I take pride in reviving old neglected pianos in the most affordable manner. As an associate board member of the Piano Technicians Guild in New York, I attend almost every workshop and meeting offered, and continually trade information with a variety of piano technicians, thus deepening my insight and skills.
"Mr. Noah Haverkamp Frere has been a colleague of mine for approximately two years. As a recording engineer at one of the premiere studios in the United States, it is absolutely necessary for the people I work with to understand both perfection and professionalism in critical, high-pressure situations. Whether it is for Courtney Love, Patti Smith or Interpol, Noah has displayed both of these attributes on numerous occasions. His skills sets, passion, and personality have made it incredibly easy to extend my highest recommendation to any and all of his future business associates. Noah is highly proficient and easy to get along with. His presence will surely benefit those who decide to employ him. Therefore, it is truly my pleasure to endorse Noah for you and your company.Noah Goldstein-Recording Engineer at Electric Lady Studios, New York
"Thank you so much for not only tuning my piano, but really helping me know my piano. Because my piano is old and required a good amount of attention (and will need more in the future), it's essential that I understand its needs. I greatly appreciated the fact that you provided a number of options for repair and future maintenance, and your thorough and objective explanations of the consequences of each choice. Thank you as well for the ease of the transaction, your punctuality, professionalism, and honesty."Janna Taylor , New York
Noah -- Thanks so much for making our piano sound terrific. My son is absolutely thrilled with the quality of the tone. Best,Carol Chave, New York
Noah is the most dependable, hard working and sensitive piano tuner I've ever known. Issue Project Room found a free grand piano in need of a major overhaul and Noah literally brought the thing back from the dead. He's like a superhero whose special power is repairing and tuning pianos. A+Zach Layton-Manager of Issue Project Room, Brooklyn
I can't thank Noah enough for taking such time and care with my little piano. Many folks advised me that the miniature upright was unsalvageable, but Noah has used his creativity and know-how to bring a beautiful sound back into the house for almost two years now. On top of his tuning skills, Noah is a genuinely kind person who understands what it is to love an instrument. He takes time to explain his process and the owner's options; his tuning/repair visits have become greatly anticipated educational activities in our home. Thank you, Noah!~Jennifer Barnette, New York
I recently purchased a baby grand piano from Noah. I consider myself lucky, in that, I believe that he was working on it with the intention of keeping it for his personal use. Because of he and his wifes' recent relocation, I was able to buy this wonderful instrument. The entire piano was carefully and lovingly redone. New bass stings, felts etc. his workmanship is first rate. He was able to locate a mover for me and actually came to my home during a recent visit to the city to tune it. You can't go wrong with any instrument that Noah touches!J. Bruce Kimball, Connecticut
Noah is a craftsman in the best of traditions: he really knows all aspects of the instrument and how to carefully craft repairs: he managed to restore the pinblock on my old Shoninger Grand so that it held the tuning once more:
it's two years later, and it's still all intact. His care about what he's doing is paramount, and that translates into trustworthy workmanship. I recommend him highly!John FitzGibbon, New York
Noah managed our fleet of 35 pianos admirably in the hectic world of daily rental pianos. He's easy to work with and a great guy. Noah, thanks for all your hard work and professionalism. We miss you, best of luck in Tennessee.Allan Baker-General Manager of Carroll Music, New York
